Ventra Holdings LLC ("Ventra," "we," or "us") operates the Ventra browser extension (the "extension"). This notice explains what the extension reads, where that information goes, and the choices you have. Read it together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
What the extension does
The extension measures how much data your company keeps in its software tools. You choose the tools. The extension opens each one in a background tab in your own browser, using the accounts you are already signed into, and reads data-volume totals, record counts, and supporting evidence. You review the results before saving them to your company's Ventra account. A measurement is not an agreement to license or sell any underlying business records.
If you choose QuickBooks tool discovery, the extension reads vendor and expense pages to suggest software your company uses. It keeps candidate names, short supporting evidence and scan coverage in your browser. You review the candidates and choose which software names to import into your company’s tool list. Discovery does not change accounting records or start measurements.
If you choose Headcount proof, the extension uses a restricted navigation view to find an employee report. It processes the report’s employment type, active status and country columns in your browser and returns counts by country. Employee names, email addresses, salaries and other row details are excluded from that workflow. You review the counts and coverage limits before attaching an extension-generated CSV, including the source website and capture date, to your company’s proof-of-headcount files.
You can also choose to download your data from those tools to your own device, either manually or automatically. Downloaded files are saved on your device, and what you do with them is up to you.
Information the extension processes
- Account information: your Ventra account email, company identifier and domain, the tools you select, and your sign-in session.
- Page content: page addresses, visible page text, buttons and links, totals, and supporting evidence from the tools you select. This content can include names, email addresses, messages, or other business information visible in those tools.
- Screenshots: screenshots of a measurement tab when a figure appears in a chart or image and needs to be read.
- Account check: the account email shown in each tool, to confirm you are signed into your company's account.
The extension uses your existing sessions in your browser. It does not export those tools' passwords or session cookies.
AI assistance and service providers
To find software tools or verify a measurement, the extension sends relevant page text, buttons and links, evidence, and, when needed, screenshots to Ventra's servers. Our servers use AI and other service providers to decide where to click and to help read figures, and a separate provider handles account sign-in. These providers receive the information needed for the requested help. Page content can leave your browser before you choose to save a result.
Automated steps in your browser
To count records, the extension may run automated steps in the tabs it opens, including scripts generated by AI, to read page content, scroll lists, and count items. It is designed to be read-only: it is built to skip controls such as delete, sign out, invite, buy, and subscribe, and generally fills in only date filters.
Because the extension can run these steps, Chrome shows a permission warning at install and asks for site access for the tools you choose, and a "started debugging this browser" bar may appear while a measurement runs. You can stop a measurement at any time.
Limited use of extension data
We use information obtained through the extension only to provide and improve its tool-discovery and measurement features, including using the results you save to evaluate data licensing opportunities with your company, to protect the service, to comply with applicable law, or to carry out your explicit instructions. We do not sell extension page text or screenshots, use them for advertising or credit decisions, or use them to train AI models. The use of information received through our Chrome extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and retention
Your browser stores discovery candidates, measurement progress, results, preferences, and a log of the extension's steps. Your Ventra sign-in session is kept in the extension's session storage and ends when you sign out or restart the browser. Removing the extension clears its browser storage but does not delete measurements already saved to your company's Ventra account.
Saved measurements and evidence stay with your company's Ventra account and can be seen by authorized users of that account. Our Privacy Policy explains how long we keep information.
Your choices
- Measure only tools and accounts you are authorized to access.
- Stop a run at any time, or decline additional site access.
- Revoke the extension's access in your browser's extension settings.
- Personal or partial readings are saved only after you approve them.
- Sign out or uninstall the extension to stop using it.
